Description
Grasroutes Henna-mix is principally pure Lawsonia inermis, mehandi, or henna leaf powder. People love using it to dye hair and hands. And they’ve used it for ages.
But what we do to make it more loveable, is add somethings to it. That is, Amla (Embelica officinalis), Harad (Terminalia Chebula), Baheda (Terminalia Bellirica) and Khair (Acacia Catechu). Because they enhance colour, strengthen hair roots and condition it!
True, some people prefer the fiery and brassy orange of henna. And they use it with enhancers like tea, coffee, etc., to darken it. But try combining it with Grasroutes Hair Colour Therapy or Just Indigo. Why? Because it results in dark brown to black hair that lasts longer.
How To Use Henna Mix
The way is, Soak overnight sufficient Henna-mix powder in room temperature water in an iron vessel. This should be an easily applicable paste on hair.
And you can use this in three ways. (Other than just applying it for colouring hair a bright orange, or for conditioning dark hair) :
- Method 1 – Apply on pre-washed and clean, dry hair as usual for about two-three hours. Then wash off with cool water (no shampooing) for a base orange. On the second day apply Grasroutes Hair Colour Therapy as per instructions. This will ensure better root coverage. Follow up with Grasroutes Hair Colour Therapy twice a month as usual. For best results, you can apply Henna-mix again after 4-6 months, depending on requirement.
- Method 2 – Mix the henna paste with Just Indigo. In this the Henna to Indigo ratio is 50:50 or 40:60, depending on how dark you want your hair. 10 minutes before you apply Indigo, make a paste of Indigo in hot (but not boiling) water. Now add this to the henna paste, and apply as per Grasroutes Hair Colour Therapy instructions.
- Method 3 – Apply soaked Henna-Mix on pre-washed and clean, dry hair for about two-three hours. Then wash off with cool water (no shampooing) for a base orange. On the second day, apply Just Indigo as per instructions on packet. This essentially is the two-step method using henna and indigo. Roots usually show up on an average of 15 days. So you’ll probably do this once a fortnight.
Individual results vary… so have fun being an artist and scientist. And discover what works best for you!
